Une autre journée très occupée! J’avais 25 photos de plus sur un autre sujet, mais ça devra attendre à demain (ou jeudi). Vous devrez vous « contenter » de 36 photos aujourd’hui! Je crois que ça vaut la peine.
Pas vraiment de narratif ici, l’histoire se résume dans les légendes pour chaque photo. Lisez-les!
Stef n’était pas avec nous aujourd’hui — elle a fait quelques courses au Galleria d’Alexanderplatz, et je pense que ses jambes protestaient un peu trop fort pour marcher beaucoup. Et croyez-moi, on en a marché une maudite aujourd’hui!

Hey hey,
Another very busy day! I had 25 additional pictures on another topic, but these will have to wait until tomorrow (or Thursday). Today you’ll have to « settle » with 36 pictures. That said, I think it’s worth it.
No real narrative today, as the story is in the captions for each photo. Read them!
Stef wasn’t with us today — she ran a few errands at the Galleria at Alexanderplatz, and I think her legs weren’t that willing to work a lot today. As for me, mine worked a hell of a lot today!

- Tout juste avant de prendre cette photo, un garde en vélo nous intercepte! Il nous dit en allemand : « C’est une propriété privée, vous n’avez pas le droit d’être ici, etc. ». Beate, vive d’esprit et qui parle un français impeccable, lui répond en français que nous sommes des touristes québécois et que nous ne parlons pas allemand. J’embarque et ajoute (toujours en français) que nous ne parlons pas anglais non plus! Le gars commence a pédaler (ho ho) fort et nous mentionne qu’il va appeler son « Kollege » (se prononce avec un g dur), ce à quoi (question d’en rajouter) je réponds en français : « Collège? Non non, nous ne sommes pas des étudiants! ». Il finit par appeler son collègue (le gars à la porte). Quand il lui demande (en allemand) si par hasard il ne parle pas français, j’éclate presque de rire (souvenez-vous, je suis supposé rien comprendre). OK, il va nous escorter à la porte principale. On le supplie de nous laisser prendre au moins une autre photo (ci-contre), et il accepte, le chic type. / TRANSLATION NEXT PHOTO.

- Le garde qui nous a attrapés. / The guard who caught us. TRANSLATION PREVIOUS PHOTO: Just before we took this picture, a security guard on a bike stops us and says (in German): « This is private property, you can’t be here, etc. ». Beate, quick-witted and fluent in French, says (in French) that we are Quebecer tourists and we don’t speak German. I jump in and add that we don’t speak English either! The guy starts hemming and hawing, then tells us he’s going to call his « Kollege » (hard G), to which I reply (just to mess with him) in French: « College? No, no, we’re not students! ». Eventually he does call his colleague (the guard at the gate). When he asks him (in German) if by any chance he speaks French I almost burst out laughing (remember, I’m not supposed to understand a word). OK, he’ll escort us to the gate. But before that, we beg him to let us take another picture (see above). He seemed like a nice guy, so he said yes.

- Le garde à la porte. Il nous explique que le site est ouvert, mais que c’est 15 euros par personne et seulement sur rendez-vous (c’est pour ça que les filles de tout à l’heure pouvaient circuler librement). Lesdites filles sont d’ailleurs venues nous voir pour confirmer le tout, en anglais et en allemand. Ça m’a pris tout mon petit change pour ne pas commencer à placoter avec eux autres — le garde de tout à l’heure était encore là. Donc il nous suffirait de payer le 15 euros, mais on devra quitter les lieux immédiatement. Si on refuse de payer, la police devra s’en mêler. Je consulte Beate du regard et elle me dit (en français) qu’ils ne plaisantent probablement pas. Alors nous payons, et bye bye. TRANSLATION NEXT PHOTO.

- TRANSLATION PREVIOUS PHOTO: The guard at the gate, from earlier. He explains that the site is open, but it’s 15 euros per person, and only on appointment (that’s why the girls were walking around freely). Said girls then came by and confirmed everything, in German and English. It took all my concentration not to chat them up in either language — the previous guard was still there with us. So what we could do is pay the 15 euros, but we’d have to leave immediately. If we don’t pay, the police would have to get involved. I look at Beate, and she tells me (in French) that they’re probably not kidding. So we pay, and it’s bye bye for us.

- Sur le chemin vers l’entrée principale, j’avais délibérément marché sur mon lacet. Question de « staller » une dernière fois, je donne mon appareil à Beate et lui demande d’en prendre une petite dernière pendant que le gardien attend après moi, heh. / On the way to the gate, I deliberately stepped on my shoelace. I wanted to stall one last time, so I gave Beate my camera and asked to take one last quick shot while the guard was waiting after me, heh.
