J’ai récemment lu quelque chose sur le cimetière juif de Weissensee, qui semblait être intéressant. J’ai donc décidé d’y jeter un coup d’oeil hier. Sauf que Weissensee, c’est loin! Le trajet a pris environ une heure. Au moins ça me permettait de repasser devant plusieurs classiques (ceux qui me lisaient auparavant connaissent déjà ces lieux).

Quant au cimetière, c’était plus impressionnant de par sa taille que par l’architecture ou le style. Pas mal quand même.

Vous voulez voir un cimetière impressionnant? Holy shit, j’ai de quoi pour vous autres! CLIQUEZ-MOI! (Visite à Milan en 2009 — whoa, je me souvenais plus qu’y avait autant de stock là-dedans…) Sérieux… cliquez, ça vaut le coup.

Aujourd’hui, je voulais aller voir un musée, mais c’était fermé. Le reste de la journée fut consacré aux commissions, achat de souvenirs, etc. Rien de bien particulier. Je vais essayer de retourner au musée demain, on verra ce que ça donne.

Recently I read something about the Jewish Cemetery in Weissensee, and it seemed rather interesting. So I decided to have a look yesterday. One thing, though: Weissensee is not next door! Took me about an hour to get there. At least it was nice to drive by a few classics (famous buildings) — those who read my previous blogs probably know those already.

As for the cemetery, its size was more impressive than its style or its architecture. That said, it was still a visit.

That said #2, do you want to see a really impressive cemetery? Holy shit, have I got something for you! CLICK ME! (Our visit to Milan in 2009 — whoa, I didn’t remember there was so much material in there…) Seriously… click on the link, it’s worth it. It’s only in French, but it won’t matter much here. (Bonus: shitton of photos of my visit to the San Siro Stadium, for the soccer/football fans out there.)

As for today, I wanted to go to a museum, but it closed an hour before I got there. Previously, we ran errands for most of the day, get some souvenirs, etc. Nothing spectacular. I’ll try to go back tomorrow, and we’ll see what happens.

: Terminus sur la Michelangelostrasse. J’ai eu l’étage à moi seul pour les 10 dernières minutes. On est à Weissensee, c.-à-d. creux! / Terminus on Michelangelostrasse. I had the upper deck to myself for the last 10 minutes of the ride. We’re in Weissensee, a.k.a. the boondocks!

: Sur la route vers le cimetière, je tombe sur une Kleingartenanlage (ou Kleingartenkolonie). C’est comme un paquets de tout petits chalets, dans un environnement structuré (quel type de jardin on peut avoir, sa grandeur, etc.) Ça peut donner des résultats assez jolis (ou vraiment laids). / On the way to the cemetary, I walk by a Kleingartenanlage (or Kleingartenkolonie). It’s like a bunch of tiny summer houses, in a very structured environment (as in, what kind of garden can be had, how big, etc.). Some of those tiny houses can be rather cute (or be shithouses).

: Ugh, fallait s’y attendre, mais je trouve ça creepy et déprimant de voir tellement plus de cailloux sur cette pierre que les autres. / Ugh, it’s no surprise, but it depresses me and creeps me out to see so many more pebbles on this headstone, compared to the others.
