Las Vegas, jour/Day 3 (2/2): Street Art (!?!), High Roller

Hey hey,

Après notre visite à la paire de musées, mes acolytes ont décidé de profiter un peu de la piscine de l’hôtel, ce qui est compréhensible. De mon côté, il y avait encore de l’exploration à faire. Je suis donc allé près des rues Ogden et Stewart et de la 6e et 7e rue, à la recherche d’un peu de street art, entre autres. (Oui, oui, il y en a à Las Vegas!)

Le changement de point de vue sera pour demain, promis.

Hey hey,

After seeing the two museums, my colleagues decided to go back to the hotel and enjoy the hotel pool. Can’t blame them. I still had some exploring to do, though, so I walked to Ogden, Stewart, 6th and 7th streets, looking for among other things, some street art. (Yes, there is such a thing in Vegas!)

I recently mentioned a new point of view. You’ll see tomorrow, I promise.

: J’ai vu une autre cour intérieure avec quelques sacs de couchage et tout plein de détritus à proximité, comme si j’avais dérangé un refuge de sans-abris. J’ai pris quelques photos et sacré mon camp séance tenante. / I saw another courtyard with a few sleeping bags and tons of crap nearby, as if I had walked into a homeless people’s den. I took a couple pictures and got the hell out of there.

: Les rues étaient complètement désertes, en fait, à part quelques types bizarroïdes qui ont gardé leur distance. / The streets were actually empty, except for a couple of sketchy weirdos who kept their distance.

: Satisfait de ma récolte, j’embarque dans un autobus vers le sud et ma prochaine destination… / Satisfied with the results, I hop on a bus heading south, towards my next destination…

: Des installations ont récemment été construites pour faciliter la prise de photos et le stationnement à proximité. / Some facilities were built recently to allow for easier parking and picture-taking.

: Maintenant de retour à l’hôtel. Une autre oeuvre de la pâtisserie de l’autre jour. / Now back at the hotel. Here’s another piece from the bakery I mentioned yesterday.

: Le High Roller, c’est une grande roue. / The High Roller is a Ferris wheel.

: CIrculez, il n’y a rien à voir. Juste quelques dingues religieux. / Move along, nothing to see here. Only a couple of religious zealots.

: C’est ça la joie de se promener à pied à Vegas. On en voit, des personnages peu recommandables. / That’s the beauty of walking in Vegas. Plenty of unsavory folks to walk into.

: Enfin arrivés. On est sur le bord d’embarquer! / Finally there. We’re about to get in!

: Ça aurait pu être intéressant et paisible comme expérience, mais on était pris avec 5-6 insupportables jeunes, qui avaient de toute évidence pris beaucoup de sucre avant d’embarquer. / This could have been an interesting and peaceful experience, but unfortunately we were stuck with 5-6 annoying brats who were on a sugar rush.
