Berlin, jour/Day 7: Mondrian et cinéma! / Mondrian and a movie!

Voici donc un petit compte rendu de ma visite de l’exposition sur Piet Mondrian, avec par la suite une sortie au cinéma. Le film en question (Victoria) était très bien — il a été filmé en une seule séquence; aucune coupure. Et ça fonctionne! Une scène m’a fait rire — l’acteur manque sa réplique (il se trompe de mot), secoue sa tête à la « voyons, qu’est-ce que je viens de dire là!? », corrige le tir et poursuit la scène. Et ça fonctionne!

Here is a small summary of my visit to the exhibition on Piet Mondrian, followed by a night at the movies. Said movie (Victoria) vas very good — it was shot in one-take; no edits at all. And it works! One moment made me chuckle pretty good — the actor clearly screwed up his line, shook his head in a « sorry for the brain cramp » way and kept right on going. And it worked!

: J’aurais pris plus de photos, mais c’était interdit. Au moins ils me laissaient tranquille dans les escaliers. / I would have shown you more, but photographs were forbidden. At least they left me alone down the stairs.

: Bel endroit, avec plusieurs fauteuils confortables pour attendre son film (on y sert aussi de l’alcool!) / Nice place, plenty of comfy seats to wait for your movie (they also serve alcohol!)

: Mémorial du Mur sur Bernauer Strasse. Je vous l’ai montré l’an dernier. / Berlin Wall Memorial on Bernauer Strasse. I showed you plenty of pictures last year.

: Les poteaux reproduisent le tracé du mur. / Those posts « copy » the path of the Wall.

: Chapelle de la réconciliation, qui remplace une chapelle démolie parce qu’elle entravait le tracé du Mur. / The Chapel of Reconciliation, built to replace the previous one, torn down because it was in the way (right on the border).

: Je marche jusqu’ìci, ensuite S-Bahn jusqu’à Potsdamer Platz pour une exposition thématique. Mais ça, ce sera pour demain! / I walk from home to this S-Bahn station, then it’s on to Potsdamer Platz for an exhibition. More details tomorrow!
