Berlin, jour/Day 4: Soccer! (Football, pour le reste de la planète / Football, for the rest of the world)

Aujourd’hui, nous sommes allés à un match de soccer du DFB-Pokal (et non la Bundesliga). C’est un peu compliqué à expliquer comment ça fonctionne, mais c’est comme si les éliminatoires de la Coupe Stanley se jouaient pendant la saison.

En fin de compte, le mari à Beate n’était pas là, et suite à une petite erreur de communication, je pensais qu’on serait 3 à voir le match, finalement ce fut uniquement Stef et moi.

Le match était OK, mais sans plus. Ça manquait un peu de finesse d’exécution. Faut dire que BFC Dynamo Berlin est un club de 4e (5e?) division, et pour éviter de se faire traverser 10-0 par Stuttgart (1ère division), fallait être prudent. Ça a donc fini 2-0.

Goliath a gagné, mais c’est pas grave, ce fut un bel après-midi en général. Avant le match, nous sommes allés dîner sur la Kastanienallee (Hipsterville, en d’autres mots). On a pris des pizzas aussi délicieuses qu’énormes (vous verrez plus loin).

Alors voilà. Après ceci, c’est l’heure des bagages pour moi. Demain, je serai en Pologne.

Hey hey,

Today we went to a DFB-Pokal soccer game (not the Bundesliga). What’s DFB-Pokal? It’s a bit complicated, but let’s say, it’s as if the Stanley Cup Playoffs took place during the regular season.

Turned out Beate’s husband wasn’t there, and due to a small misunderstanding, I thought we’d all see the game. Only Stef and I stayed.

The game was OK, nothing more. It was lacking some finesse. I must add that BFC Dynamo Berlin is a 4th (5th?) division team, so if they wanted to avoid being destroyed 10-0 by Stuttgart (1st division), they had to play it safe.It ended 2-0.

Goliath won, but that’s OK, it was a nice afternoon. Before the game, we took a walk on the Kastanienallee (Hipsterville, in other words). For lunch, we had pizzas as enormous as they were delicious (you’ll see).

So there you go. After I’m done with this, it’s time to pack up. Tomorrow, I’ll be in Poland.
